READ TO SCHOOL CHILDREN

With the school year starting soon, we are looking for volunteers to help in schools reading, tutoring in math, or mentoring students.  We will assign you to a classroom and you may choose a time weekly/bi-weekly when you can come and make a difference in students’ lives.  If interested in helping at either Northboro Elementary or Lake Park Elementary Schools this year please call Ron Hilliard at 561-622-8818.  We will be having an orientation meeting in a couple of weeks.

NORTH COUNTY CHURCHES HOME DELIVERED MEALS

In need of drivers all days of the week. It takes about two hours round trip and blesses homebound folks. Meals are picked up at Gardens Hospital at 10:00 a.m. Interested? Call Lori Vassalotti at 561-248-1893.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO SERVE ON THE MEMORIAL/FUNERAL RECEPTION COMMITTEE

This ministry cares for our members when they are grieving the loss of a loved one. It can be as easy as preparing a favorite dessert or appetizer or possibly attending and serving at the reception after a memorial service.  If you can help with this ministry, please call Nancy Keeler at 561-307-5000.

FIRST PRES WELCOME TEAM

Every Sunday we have visitors to our congregation whom we want to warmly welcome to the First Pres family.  Everyone is a part of this team!  Look for an opportunity to greet someone in your pew, the Narthex, the Courtyard or parking lot. Thanks for being part of the Welcome Team.  Smile and greet everyone you meet.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIORS

Would you like to be more active in serving at church, but maybe don't know what you could do, given some physical limitations? Below are a few ways to become "connected" all of which do not involve driving at night.

  • Prepare the First Press newsletter for mailing one morning a month
  • Fold, address, and seal envelopes for church mailings
  • Pray daily from home for members as part of the church "prayer chain"
  • Set tables in Fellowship Hall on Wednesday mornings
  • Serve and clean up on Wednesday evenings
  • Restock the pews with supplies during the week
  • Count the Sunday's collections on the following Monday (every fourth month of the year)
