Care

Congregational Care is offered in many ways at First Pres.

  • Bereavement Receptions

A loving team of volunteers provides a reception in the fellowship hall following memorial services (held in our sanctuary or chapel) for members of our congregation. Committee members provide finger foods and desserts and act as hosts/hostesses to bereaved families and guests.

  • Meal Train Ministry

For church members who are ill, home-bound, or have new babies, we deliver meals and/or grocery shop on a temporary basis. In addition, in-home communion from pastors and elders is available to those unable to attend regular services. Temporary meal delivery is also provided for parents of newborns.

  • GriefShare Program

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences; the loss of a loved one. GriefShare combines Christian support, education, and discussion.

  • Flower Delivery & Visits

We have two beautiful flower bouquets dedicated for our worship on Sunday mornings. After the services, these bouquets are broken down into several smaller bouquets, which we then use to bring to those who are homebound, bereaved or recovering from surgery or illness. Volunteers are needed for deliveries.

  • Caregiving Support

There are numerous people in our congregation who find themselves in a caregiving position. Whether it be caring for a spouse, parent, sibling, or neighbor, we want to walk alongside and support one another in this important role.

  • Breast Cancer Ministry

The Breast Cancer Ministry is a compassionate and empowering community led by resilient women who have triumphed over breast cancer themselves. Through mentoring, shared experiences, and hearts filled with empathy, this ministry provides a beacon of hope and strength, reminding every woman that she is not alone in her fight against breast cancer.
