After God’s Own Heart: David & Real-Life Spirituality
“Even though it all went wrong
I’ll stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah”
“Hail to the Lord’s Anointed,
Great David’s greater Son!”
The stories of King David are some of the most well-worn in the world: David the shepherd, David defeating Goliath, David seducing Bathsheba in his Jerusalem palace. David’s story is earthy, human- in fact, it’s the longest single narrative of a human being in the Bible. In the stories of David, the Scriptures depict a human life at is very best and its very worst. This summer, we’re listening to the story of David- a human life both fascinating and flawed- so that we can learn to pay attention to the work of God in our own earthy, fascinating, flawed lives.
So whether you’re beginning to explore faith in your life, or you’re a long-time believer, join us as we enter into King David’s story, and encounter great David’s greater Son, King Jesus.
